To be shamefully honest, today will be my first time voting. The first election in which I was able to vote I was lazy. The second time, I was in my first year of grad school in England, and found myself too wrapped up in my training to arrange an absentee ballot. Now this election has rolled around, and unlike the previous two, I’m not really a kid anymore. I’m living on my own, juggling two part-time jobs while trying to make it in one of the most difficult industries in the world. I’m an adult and committed to keeping abreast of what’s going on in the world, beyond my immediate concerns. Since those earlier elections I like to think I’ve grown as a person (not just in age). My Asperger’s diagnosis has not only changed me personally, but also has changed the way I look at the world. I realize that this election is too important for me to act like a lazy kid again. So today I’m voting and hope my vote will make a difference
